Group BTS member Suga's new song 'Haegeum' has been unveiled.
On the 21st, at 1:00 pm (Korean time), Suga released all sound sources of his solo album ‘D-DAY’ and the music video of the title song ‘Haegeum’ simultaneously worldwide under the name of Agust D. ‘D-DAY’ is Suga’s first album in about 3 years since the mixtape ‘D-2’ released in May 2020. With this album, Suga completed the August the Trilogy (three-part series) following the mixtapes ‘Agust D’ and ‘D-2’ released in 2016.
'D-DAY' includes the title song 'Haegeum' and 'People Pt.2' (feat. IU) pre-released on the 7th, 'D-Day', 'HUH?!' (feat. j-hope), ' AMYGDALA', 'SDL', 'Polar Night', 'Interlude: Dawn', 'Snooze' (feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kim Woo-sung of The Rose), and 'Life Goes On'. In this album, Suga melted the message to focus on 'me' and 'now' in an era overflowing with excessively fast and vast amounts of information.
Suga was in charge of producing the album as well as writing lyrics and composing for all songs, leading the overall album work from planning to concept and composition of 'D-DAY', revealing his outstanding capabilities as a producer. He improved the perfection of the album based on his firm convictions and excellent producing ability, and collaborated with various musicians transcending genres.
The title song 'Haegeum' is a song that uses the sound of Haegeum again following the title song 'Daechwita' of 'D-2'. This song raises the topic of 'freedom' to those who are bound by various restrictions and restrictions in everyday life and society through the dual expressions of 'Haegeum' (奚琴) and 'Release the forbidden' (解禁), a Korean musical instrument.
Overall, the music video for ‘Haegeum’ released on this day stands out with a well-organized story line and dramatic elements full of tension in a noir movie-like atmosphere. In particular, Suga's passionate acting, playing two roles in one person, is the highlight. The confrontation between the opposite characters 'Being' and 'Exister', which appeared in the concept photo earlier, and the dramatic reversal catches the eye.
Starting from Belmont Park on the 26th and 27th, Suga will embark on a world tour that will lead to Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Singapore and Seoul, as well as the United States, including Newark, Rosemont, Los Angeles and Auckland.
